AFP Texas Legislative Action Day
Empowering the Nonprofit Voice
in Texas Policy
Tuesday, January 29th, 2013
Texas
will have its first Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Texas
Legislative Action Day on January 29, 2013, engaging nonprofit professionals
from across the Lone Star State in public policy through a safe, legal and
skill-building process to support the vibrancy of Texas’ nonprofit sector.
As
our state looks to meet its budgetary restrictions and obligations, nonprofits
are increasingly asked to bear more of the burden while being allocated fewer
resources to meet the growing needs of our communities. Understanding the rules
regulating lobbying efforts by nonprofits allows us to effectively guide the
conversations affecting our charitable organizations’ bottom lines, work and
ultimately the impact we have in serving our communities for many years to
come.
Join
your AFP colleagues from across Texas for a historical day of empowerment and
engagement in nonprofit advocacy that not only supports our respective
charitable missions, but upholds the importance and critical role of our sector
in providing community impact.
