Building a Culture of Philanthropy at Your Organization

Many of us in the nonprofit sector have realized that having a scarcity mentality leads to a lack of conditions for success. This creates painfully high turnover and unsustainable relationships between constituents and our organizations. Studies like Underdeveloped from CompassPoint and the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund helped us understand the need to nurture a strong culture of philanthropy. This kind of culture, however, cannot be achieved if the only people pushing for it are fundraisers—the very people whose time and resources are already stretched thin!

In this panel session led by Blackbaud Institute Managing Director, Ashley Thompson, you’ll hear from local experts who have charted courses for all different areas of their organizations, including marketing, programs, the board, and everything in between. Their perspectives will help you foster awareness with your organization’s leaders and better articulate philanthropy’s role inside and outside your walls.

Panelist:
Jo Kathryn Quinn, Executive Director, Caritas of Austin
Amy Jackson, CFRE, Director of Development, Caritas of Austin
Tina Snider, Director of Communications, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas
