Future of Philanthropy in Williamson County

The AFP Austin Chapter is excited to announce the return of quarterly Williamson County AFP Breakfasts with a 2019 focus on the “Future of Philanthropy in Williamson County.” The first meeting of 2019 is on Thursday, January 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and will be held in the Lynda McCombs Ballroom inside the Red and Charline McCombs Campus Center at Southwestern University. 

A dynamic panel of funders, executive directors, and community demographers will discuss the key trends and issues that will impact Williamson County residents and community based-organizations, and discuss how non-profits and their donors and funders can partner together to address them.

Joyce Lauck is a community leader and expert on aging issues in Texas, serving as Executive Director of AGE of Central Texas beginning in 2000 until her recent retirement.  In addition, Joyce gained business expertise in management roles during a 20-year career with H-E-B.  Joyce has provided leadership in the field of aging and other social service arenas as:

  • Treasurer of One Voice Central Texas
  • Director of the Aging Advisory Council of the Area Agency on Aging
  • Founding member of the Aging Services Council of Central Texas
  • Founding member of the Regional Transportation Coordinating Committee
  • Secretary of ADCAT, the Adult Day Care Association of Texas
  • Board member and President of the Board of the YWCA
  • Board member and Treasurer of the Board, of the Capital Area Food Bank

Joyce earned an MBA from St. Edwards University, in Austin, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York College at Brockport.   She is a member of the Essential Leadership Austin class of 2006.

Nico Ramsey,  is a community organizer, public speaker, and digital personality who resides in Austin, Texas. With an educational background in Mass Media Communications, he serves as the Community Relations Specialist for Velocity Credit Union. Nico has had the opportunity to work with many individuals in the nonprofit development sector for both Williamson and Travis County. Specializing in millennial nonprofit onboarding and retention, he has helped organizations create strategic pipelines for the next generation of philanthropists.  Nico sits on the board for The Dog Alliance and the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
