Rachel Elder

 AFP Rachel Elder

 

Rachel Elder is an Associate Consultant at Butler Nonprofit Consulting and shares her two decades of experiences in grant writing, foundation and corporate relations, capital campaigns and major gifts with the clients she serves.  Her skillset includes volunteer management, development staff searches, board development, and grassroots fundraising strategies.   Rachel is  dedicated to meeting nonprofits where they are at in the fundraising process and  helping to support the great work of organizations in Central Texas.  Prior to her consulting work, she worked for renowned universities such as Rice University, University of Houston and St. Edward’s University as well as national and local nonprofits including the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (USA). 

With a strong commitment to volunteerism, Rachel continues to serve the Austin Community.  She is actively involved in education and community based organization such as Generation Serve, Forklift Danceworks, Austin Ed Fund and Zilker Elementary School. Rachel recently served as president of the Zilker Elementary PTA from 2015 to 2017.  She has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals  throughout her development career and appreciates the opportunity to serve as Director of Volunteer Engagement and Recruitment. 

Rachel earned her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Lutheran University where she was a member of the cross country team.  In 2018, she earned her Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University. Rachel continues to be an avid runner  and enjoys yoga, gardening, travelling and baseball in addition to being with her amazing husband and three children.   She also hopes to be a champion for those with Prader-Willi syndrome and to bring awareness to this rare condition.
