2024 Philanthropy Day Awards Nominations 

Philanthropy Day Awards are a tradition - a very special annual opportunity to celebrate our collective, and individual, work for the greater good. No other Austin event gathers such a wide variety of causes, funders, professionals and community leaders centered on philanthropy. Learn more about Philanthropy Day Awards Nominations here.

Philanthropy Day Awards nominations are due December 8, 2023 (extended from December 1).

We will have honorees in each of the following categories: 

  • Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year

    • Presented to an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity who has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a community, national and/or international level. (This award is intended for individuals or families, but not the philanthropic activities of a corporation or foundation.)

  • Outstanding Philanthropic Medium or Large Corporation of the Year (101+ employees)

    • Presented to a corporation with 101+ employees or its corporate foundation that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.

  • Outstanding Philanthropic Small Corporation of the Year (100 or less employees)

    • Presented to a corporation with 100 or fewer employees or its corporate foundation that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.

  • Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation/Organization of the Year

    • Presented to a private foundation, not-for-profit organization, civic, or professional association that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial or in-kind support, through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy, and through community involvement. Please note: Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation and Outstanding Philanthropic Organization have been combined to better align with national AFP awards.

  • Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year

    • Presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in coordinating groups of volunteers for major fundraising projects of more than one not-for-profit organization. The recipient should demonstrate exceptional skills coordinating and motivating groups of volunteers for fundraising projects for the benefit of charitable institutions and a commitment to the advancement of philanthropy.

  • Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year
    • Presented to an outstanding individual fundraising professional who practices his/her profession in an exemplary manner, has been in the field a minimum of 5 years and is a current AFP member.
  • Kelly Davidson Memorial Outstanding Philanthropic Youth of the Year

    • Presented to an individual youth or youth group (age 18 and under) with a proven record of exceptional generosity who has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a community, national and/or international level.

  • Communitarian of the Year
    • Presented to an individual who has contributed in meaningful ways to the advancement of inclusion, diversity, equity and access through giving of time and talent; one who has built community, encouraged philanthropy and fundraising, and inspired others to action and/or greater awareness.

NOTE: Nominees who have won in the past 10 years are ineligible to be considered. Nominees who have won 11+ years ago may be nominated again, but nominees who have never won before receive 10 bonus points in scoring.
