Understanding and Interrupting Bias in Fundraising
Pl
ease join us for an interactive virtual workshop presented by our Chapter’s
newest partner, Full Humanity Consulting. In this workshop we will be engaging in the development of a shared
understanding of the socio-historical perspectives that have contributed to
implicit bias, microaggressions and racism. We will also understand the wa
ys in which our common memory, media, grant writing and fundraising experie
nces influence the assumptions we make as well as the actions we take.
Learning Objectives:
Develop
shared language and concepts to identify individual and systemic racism wit
hin power structures in your organizations.
Des
cribe the structures of oppression such as racism, sexism and deficit langu
age that perpetuate biased assumptions and influence differential experienc
es among diverse populations.

Jaquita Wilson Kirby: Principal Consult

Jaquita Wilson (she/her/hers) is a longtime commu
nity servant in Georgetown/Williamson County. Mrs. Wilson Kirby received he
r Bachelor’s degree in English from Montclair State University, as well as
passed her Secondary Education Praxis test from the State of New York. She
has live in Georgetown, TX for seven years as a military wife, mother of fi
ve, and active member of the community. Prior to her family moving to Georg
etown, WIlson was a middle-school teacher and Education Coordinator for Cas
a Guadalupe in Pennsylvania for four years where she developed student curr
iculum, managed the budget, and organized personnel training. Locally, Wils
on taught with Head Start of Georgetown for several years before becoming D
irector of Liberty Hill Head Start.
