AFP Virtual Education Session - June 2020

How COVID-19 Has Affected the Funder Community

In addition to nonprofits, funders and foundations have been greatly affected by COVID-19. That impact is both financial and strategic as funders are evaluating how this pandemic is changing the nonprofit and philanthropic landscape. AFP Greater Austin’s June luncheon will feature a panel of local funders who will discuss how COVID-19 has changed their approach to funding, how reporting requirements for grant partners will change, and how future funding requests will be impacted.

David Porter - A Glimmer of Hope Austin

The joy of his professional journey stems from his faith and the wonderful relationships established throughout his twenty-five years of service in the Austin community. Before joining A Glimmer of Hope Foundation in 2003, he worked for a broad range of companies and organizations including IBM, UPS, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Austin, Austin ISD, and City of Austin Police Department. All offered invaluable learning opportunities while on this life-long journey.
