Fundraisers! Let's Chat About Promoting Equity in a Time of Uncertainty
Facilitated by Michelle Flores Vryn, CFRE, Chief Development Officer, One Star Foundation

Are you trying to navigate power dynamics and getting stuck when you bring up equity in your nonprofit? Join us for a dynamic, facilitated conversation about Community Centric Fundraising (CCF).  It is a movement that embeds equity and social justice in fundraising. It also empowers the fundraiser to examine their own power. Grounded in 10 principles, the CCF movement provides a framework to re-examine many donor-centric practices.

What does it look like for fundraisers to meaningfully engage with the values of CCF, particularly in times of scarcity and uncertainty? We will discuss how to approach this as well as real-world examples of how nonprofits have shifted their work to be more CCF-aligned.

Outcomes:

(1)   Understand: the background and potential solutions to the challenges of the traditional donor-centric design.

(2)   Acknowledge: The impact of traditional system designs on populations with the least resources.

(3)   Reconcile: Better identify with the drivers and reflections needed to reimagine and build more equitable resource building strategies.

We’ll not only discuss these principles but also include time for small group conversations for those who would like to participate.

This meeting will take place virtually. Register for the Zoom session using the link on the confirmation page!
