AFP Educational Breakfast - August 2019The Collab Lab: How to plan collaborative fundraising events
Join us for our quarterly breakfast to learn how to plan and produce collaborative fundraising events with nonprofit partners. Fundraising professionals will discuss the good, bad, and ugly parts of collaboration and provide tips on how to create mutually beneficial fundraising partnerships that produce lucrative results. Speakers: Lauren McAndrews, Director of Development, Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet County Moderator: Christine Herlin believes in the power of community to inspire positive change. As the Manager of Nonprofit & Customer Relations at I Live Here I Give Here, Christine works directly with over 740 local nonprofit organizations to ensure that they are empowered and equipped to rally Austin's giving community. Christine leads the nonprofit arm of Amplify Austin Day, which has raised $57M over the past 7 years for hundreds of local nonprofits. She also serves as a Community Leader in the global #GivingTuesday movement and has co-developed the annual campaign for Central Texas, which encourages everyone in Central Texas to take action for good. Over the past two years, Central Texans have completed over 5.2 million actions for good and given $2 million during the month of November. Christine is a native Texan, which naturally makes her a diehard fan of salsa, open skies, and big hats. Growing up here has also taught her about the importance of lifting up your neighbors and has instilled a deep appreciation for the history, culture, and beauty of the Hill Country. Christine values that her work with I Live Here I Give Here encourages locals to choose generosity and give back to the people and places that make Central Texas home for them. Jayden graduated from Southwestern University with a degree in Political Science in 2016. She began her career as a Program Associate for United Way of Williamson County and was promoted to Resource Development Officer a year later. In 2018 she moved on to AGE of Central Texas where she now serves as Associate Director of Development where she plans, coordinates, and assures the implementation of annual fundraising efforts including fundraising events, online fundraising campaigns, print fundraising campaigns, donor management, gift processing and recognition, corporate volunteer projects, and more. In addition, she is working on AGE’s multi-million dollar comprehensive major gifts campaign.
