AFP Educational Virtual Meeting  - June 2020

Recovery Fundraising-How to communicate with donors when your organization and community are recovering from hardship

Goal: To discuss effective fundraising strategies when the community and/or the organization is facing a programmatic or financial crisis.

Attendees will learn communication and fundraising tips around how to communicate your financial struggles as an organization to stakeholders and how to strategically fundraise as your organization and community deals with and recovers from COVID-19. This is a great event for development staff and Executive Directors to attend.

Speaker: Brianna McKinney, Founder and President, Bloom Communications

Brianna is the founder and president of Bloom Communications, an integrated communications agency bridging the gap between the marketing, market research, and public relations disciplines. Since 2012, Bloom has provided strategic consulting services exclusively to organizations making an impact in their communities. With specialization in nonprofit and healthcare, Bloom represents a portfolio of happy clients in a variety of industries from its offices in Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon. Dedicated to the growth of nonprofits and socially conscious for-profit companies, Bloom's mission is simple: You win. We win. The world wins.

Brianna has held multiple nonprofit board leadership positions, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for AGE of Central Texas and NAMI Central Texas. Additionally, Brianna is investing her professional volunteer time on two marketing task forces – one for the National Psoriasis Foundation and another for Hand to Hold. In addition to serving in these capacities, she is an active member of Ballet Austin Guild. Brianna went to school to learn how to change the world. She received a BA in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin, magna cum laude.
